{"id":8569,"date":"2014-05-20T15:30:52","date_gmt":"2014-05-20T22:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=8569"},"modified":"2014-05-20T15:30:52","modified_gmt":"2014-05-20T22:30:52","slug":"the-marketing-psychopath-running-loose-in-miami","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/the-marketing-psychopath-running-loose-in-miami\/","title":{"rendered":"The Marketing Psychopath Running Loose In Miami"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I really dig the show &#8220;Dexter&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Not just the thriller TV fanboy side of me.<\/p>\n<p>But also, the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">marketing<\/span> fanboy side.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>Because of all the insights into human behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Since it&#8217;s from a psychopath&#8217;s perspective, it&#8217;s like a marketer&#8217;s\u00a0playground how it looks at human psychology, nature, empathy,\u00a0decision making, and so on (I&#8217;ve gotten quite a few marketing ideas\u00a0watching the show).<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also another reason I dig it, too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A more blatantly &#8220;selfish&#8221; reason.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You see, ever since watching Dexter I have had the &#8220;bug&#8221; to\u00a0visit Miami where the show takes place.<\/p>\n<p>And guess what?<\/p>\n<p>Later next month I&#8217;m finally going.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, for our next &#8220;Oceans 4&#8221; Mastermind Workshop.<\/p>\n<p>(June 20th-22nd)<\/p>\n<p>Oceans 4 is something I do with my friends <strong>Andre Chaperon<\/strong> (master\u00a0auto-responder writer, strategist and teacher)&#8230; <strong>Jack Born<\/strong> (world\u00a0class programmer and Perry Marshall&#8217;s affiliate manager &#8212; who&#8217;s\u00a0like the &#8220;Walter White&#8221; of marketing, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cooking up software for\u00a0exploding sales in his motor home<\/span>, with smoke billowing out of\u00a0vents from his office)&#8230; And <strong>Ryan Levesque<\/strong> who has taught college\u00a0level classes on advanced neuroscience at an Ivy League university,\u00a0and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">uses that knowledge to build lists and funnels for his\u00a0multi-million dollar clients<\/span> (he has built the funnels of some of\u00a0the biggest direct response marketing companies on the Internet).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, it works like this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1. We keep these <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">small<\/span> (capped at 5-8 people)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">2. We <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dig<\/span> deep into each client&#8217;s business and &#8220;dissect&#8221; it<\/p>\n<p>In other words&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>We look at your funnels.<\/p>\n<p>We dig into your emails (and, even help you rewrite them).<\/p>\n<p>We rip apart your sales letters (and help you fix them up).<\/p>\n<p>We secret shop you.<\/p>\n<p>We get to know your business (before you get there) as well as we\u00a0know our own businesses, so we hit the ground running when we get\u00a0to your hot seat (and not waste your time asking you &#8220;get up to\u00a0speed&#8221; questions).<\/p>\n<p>More:<\/p>\n<p>We bring in a special guest for further training.<\/p>\n<p>Last time, it was media buying wizard Steve Gray.<\/p>\n<p>(Who buys something like $10 million per year in media &#8212; he will\u00a0be there again as a guest sitting in this time, too. Although he&#8217;s\u00a0not there to teach like last time, you can ask him your questions\u00a0about media buying, etc.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who&#8217;s doing the guest training this time?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the world&#8217;s top list building experts:<\/p>\n<p>Daegan Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Daegan has list building down to a science.<\/p>\n<p>There are few people on the Internet who can do what this guy can\u00a0do with lead generation and list building (I recently had a talk\u00a0with the VP of marketing of one of the biggest lead gen websites on\u00a0the Internet, and he was raving about Daegan and the things the guy\u00a0can do when it comes to building lists).<\/p>\n<p>More:<\/p>\n<p>Daegan is gonna teach us some proprietary secrets.<\/p>\n<p>i.e. nobody has seen this stuff but him.<\/p>\n<p>This info cannot be found anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>For any price.<\/p>\n<p>Or, in any info product.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, here&#8217;s exactly what he told us:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>This is something their ain&#8217;t no training on nowhere, and once\u00a0you&#8217;ve got a network, traffic is a non issue forever. This shit,\u00a0I&#8217;ve never shared with anyone, and the only reason I&#8217;m going to\u00a0share it at your mastermind is because you guys have a strict no\u00a0videotaping policy. This stuff better stay in the room.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Alright enough.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m jazzed about going to Miami.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m stoked about the hot seats.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">And, I&#8217;m jonesing to learn Daegan&#8217;s list building info<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What about you?<\/p>\n<p>You interested in attending?<\/p>\n<p>Well, before you get too excited, we have &#8220;filters&#8221; in place.<\/p>\n<p>We only want a certain kind of person in the room.<\/p>\n<p>But don&#8217;t worry&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t need to be a big shot millionaire to attend (although\u00a0we&#8217;ve had a bunch of them attend before).
