Ben I disagree with what you say ‘DON’T PUT CUSTOMERS ON A\u00a0PEDESTAL’. that is an irresponsible position to take. I love my\u00a0clients and they are the people who provide my income. be careful\u00a0what you say those customers may just turn on you if you don’t put\u00a0them on a pedestal!<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Just the opposite<\/span>, in fact.<\/p>\n
Here’s the way I see it:<\/p>\n

If you put someone (anyone — clients, customers, friends, etc) up\u00a0on a pedestal, then guess what?<\/p>\n
They can ONLY look down on you.<\/p>\n
That’s what happens when you put something on a pedestal.<\/p>\n
It’s *above* you.<\/p>\n
It cannot possible look up to you.<\/p>\n
It must look down on you<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
And, so it is with people, too.<\/p>\n
Put your customers and clients on a pedestal — and you will\u00a0automatically behave in such a way where they eventually lose\u00a0respect for you — either quickly, or over time.<\/p>\n
I’ve seen it happen over and over.<\/p>\n
(Hellz, it happened to me in my whipper-snapper days.)<\/p>\n

You’ll also not do what’s in their best interest.<\/p>\n
Specifically, I mean marketing to them with the kind of “tough\u00a0love” they need and expect from you.<\/p>\n
So no, I don’t put ’em on pedestals.<\/p>\n
And, I don’t recommend you do either.<\/p>\n
