{"id":8627,"date":"2014-06-05T06:30:25","date_gmt":"2014-06-05T13:30:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=8627"},"modified":"2014-06-05T06:30:25","modified_gmt":"2014-06-05T13:30:25","slug":"the-secret-of-the-beer-thief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/the-secret-of-the-beer-thief\/","title":{"rendered":"The Secret Of The Beer Thief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Let me tell you a story.<\/p>\n<p>Back in high school, I used to hang out with some people\u00a0from time to time who weren&#8217;t exactly derelicts&#8230; but they\u00a0definitely did some unsavory things.<\/p>\n<p>Like the beer thief guy.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know how he got away with it for so long.<\/p>\n<p>(To my knowledge, he never got caught.)<\/p>\n<p>But, what he would do is, he would walk into the Jewel grocery\u00a0store on a Friday or Saturday night with a long\u00a0receipt and a piece of tape. He&#8217;d go to the beer section. Tape\u00a0the receipt onto a case of beer. And, proceed to walk right out of\u00a0the store with it.<\/p>\n<p>Can you imagine that?<\/p>\n<p>The store was just oblivious.<\/p>\n<p>They never noticed him.<\/p>\n<p>Never questioned him taping the reciept to the case.<\/p>\n<p>(I mean, who does that?)<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">And, he basically fleeced that one grocery store out of\u00a0who-knows-how much beer over the years<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Maybe, he even still does.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, the point?<\/p>\n<p>There isn&#8217;t one.<\/p>\n<p>There are several.<\/p>\n<p>Like paying attention to who you let in your &#8220;store.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Who you let work for you.<\/p>\n<p>And, who you let *buy* from you.<\/p>\n<p>People wonder why I&#8217;m such a bastard about turning certain\u00a0customers away&#8230; like known spammers, opportunity-minded buyers,\u00a0people who have previously refunded other products (i.e. if someone\u00a0refunds one of my clickbank ebooks, and tries to subscribe to\u00a0&#8220;Email Players&#8221; their request is received, processed and &#8212; BZZT!!\u00a0&#8212; <em>denied<\/em>)&#8230; and the list goes on.<\/p>\n<p>Well, the above story is one reason why.<\/p>\n<p>I suggest you check who you let in your &#8220;store&#8221; too.<\/p>\n<p>And, who you let buy.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s free advice&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of stores:<\/p>\n<p>I have a bunch of ebooks on kindle.<\/p>\n<p>Most, very short.<\/p>\n<p>(So if you foolishly judge books by volume and page count, don&#8217;t\u00a0waste your precious time&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>And very inexpensive.<\/p>\n<p>Kinda like a &#8220;bargain basement&#8221; bin of books.<\/p>\n<p>Start rummaging through them here:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.BenSettle.com\/kindle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>www.BenSettle.com\/kindle<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ben Settle<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let me tell you a story.
