{"id":8656,"date":"2014-06-11T06:30:28","date_gmt":"2014-06-11T13:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/?p=8656"},"modified":"2014-06-11T06:30:28","modified_gmt":"2014-06-11T13:30:28","slug":"naked-sales-pitch-emails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bensettle.com\/blog\/naked-sales-pitch-emails\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Naked&#8221; Sales Pitch Emails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s this interesting (and, in my experience, accurate) formula\u00a0I heard the &#8220;founding father&#8221; of Internet marketing Ken McCarthy\u00a0teach in his copywriting course many years ago.<\/p>\n<p>It goes like this:<\/p>\n<p>50% of any market will never buy via direct response.<\/p>\n<p>Doesn&#8217;t matter how great your copy is.<\/p>\n<p>How hot your offer is.<\/p>\n<p>Or, how &#8220;irresistible&#8221; your guarantee.<\/p>\n<p>They simply won&#8217;t buy from direct response of any kind. (Online,\u00a0offline or on the sidelines.)<\/p>\n<p>On other hand&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>5% of your market buys everything.<\/p>\n<p>They are the rabid hyper buyers.<\/p>\n<p>They are like fish so ravenously hungry, they will attack a bare\u00a0gleaming hook when dropped in front of them and let you scoop them\u00a0up into the boat without effort.<\/p>\n<p>And then there&#8217;s another 10%-20%:<\/p>\n<p>The skeptics.<\/p>\n<p>They want what you have.<\/p>\n<p>They have money to spend.<\/p>\n<p>They have no problem buying via direct response.<\/p>\n<p>But, they need to be convinced and won over with a well crafted\u00a0pitch (one of the reasons why consistently emailing day in, and day\u00a0out, works so well, btw) that is full of proof, credibility and\u00a0clarity.<\/p>\n<p>This last group is who I primarily target.<\/p>\n<p>(They&#8217;re 2-5 times more potential buyers than the rabid portion.)<\/p>\n<p>But, that doesn&#8217;t mean I ignore the 5%.<\/p>\n<p>Which is where the blatant pitch email comes in.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike a lot of email marketers, I don&#8217;t fear using blatant pitch\u00a0emails &#8212; where I just come out and trumpet I&#8217;m selling something\u00a0throughout the email and even in the subject line!<\/p>\n<p>No content.<\/p>\n<p>No teaching.<\/p>\n<p>No real substance.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Just a blatant &#8220;naked&#8221; pitch<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The result?<\/p>\n<p>Well, if you do it right, lots and lots of sales.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s all about timing.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, doing it at the right time&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>In the right way&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And, with the right offer&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Do it right, and it can make you more sales in a day than you\u00a0ordinarily get in a month (at least, that has been my experience\u00a0over the past few months).
