Every day after I’ve given her the privilege of fetching my meals,\u00a0tidying up my house, washing & detailing my car, running my\u00a0errands, etc (I even have her fooled into believing that, like the\u00a0Karate Kid, all these chores have a purpose behind them — but\u00a0really, there’s not, I just like the idea of having someone else do\u00a0this stuff heh)… I *sometimes* get around to teaching my new copy\u00a0fledgling a few things about copywriting.<\/p>\n
The most important thing I’ve taught her?<\/p>\n
Well, it’s the most important thing ANY copywriter can know.<\/strong><\/p>\n But, not just copywriters.<\/p>\n This goes for any marketer, period.<\/p>\n Anyway, what is this one thing?<\/p>\n Well, it ain’t superior writing & spelling talent.<\/p>\n Or learning all the latest NLP and so-called “ninja” persuasion\u00a0tactics.<\/p>\n Or having the best swipe file.<\/p>\n Or even having the best teacher.<\/p>\n (Loathe as I am to admit that…)<\/p>\n No… it’s simply:<\/p>\n Research, baby<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Cold, hard research.<\/p>\n What makes all the difference between the best copywriters who\u00a0make the lions share of rupees and the struggling ones is knowing\u00a0the product better than its creator. Knowing the market better\u00a0than it\u00a0knows itself.
