Yet, all he really knows how to do is swipe &amp; steal.\u00a0In fact, every time he writes an ad, it&#8217;s a word-for-word swipe of\u00a0something (or several somethings) someone else did &#8212; as he does\u00a0what I once heard the great copywriter Peter Stone refer to as\u00a0&#8220;frankenstein&#8221; his ads together:<\/p>\n<p>Pull a headline from an ad here.<\/p>\n<p>Copy a story he read from an email there.<\/p>\n<p>Lift content from an article (&#8220;they&#8217;ll never know&#8230;&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>Grab a unique phrase he read from one of my emails over this way.\u00a0(Lately, I&#8217;ve been seeing people copy my stuff so blatantly, you\u00a0have to wonder if they have a brain of their own at all, or are\u00a0just pathetic little &#8220;benbots&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>And the list goes on.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, he fancies himself a copywriter.<\/p>\n<p>But he&#8217;s really just a copy.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Being an actual writer takes&#8230; writing<\/strong><\/span><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Writing your own thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>Your own ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Your own ads.<\/p>\n<p>Your own emails.<\/p>\n<p>Not being a warmed over version of someone else&#8217;s leftovers.<\/p>\n<p>The point?<\/p>\n<p>You might get away with swiping for a while.
