A while back I got sucked into a stupid debate.<\/p>\n
I should have seen it coming.<\/p>\n
As the blue flame special with too much time on his hands was\u00a0telegraphing his intent to want to debate like an inexperienced\u00a0boxer telegraphs a punch. In this case, he had read an email I\u00a0wrote about how a client’s FTC lawyer told him (when I was writing\u00a0an ad selling health supplements) “Imagine a big pharma exec with\u00a0the FTC in his hip pocket reading this ad and he thinks your\u00a0competition”.<\/p>\n
It was really annoying, too.<\/p>\n
Took all the fun out of writing those ads.<\/p>\n
(We couldn’t make anything even resembling a claim.)<\/p>\n
Anyway, back to the debate guy.<\/p>\n
He starts asking questions that sounded innocent… but\u00a0really he was trying to set me up to debate him, waste my time, and get whatever drama queenery inside him out of his system.<\/p>\n
He didn’t really win any arguments.<\/p>\n
(He sounded kind of like a crackpot, actually.)<\/p>\n
But, he did waste my time.<\/p>\n
Which means, yeah, he is an idiot.<\/p>\n
But, I was the even BIGGER idiot<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n After all, I let myself get sucked in to the pointless debate and\u00a0wasted some time as a result.<\/p>\n (Time is money for me, what about you?)<\/p>\n Why am I telling you this?<\/p>\n Because:<\/p>\n I have since learned of a way to *profit* from these igits who want\u00a0to mindlessly waste your time debating, arguing, and ranting about things you say in your emails or even if it’s a customer arguing\u00a0with you about something.<\/p>\n I wish I could say I invented it.<\/p>\n It’s ingenious.<\/p>\n But, I heard it from someone else.<\/p>\n Anyway, want to know what it is?<\/p>\n Then make sure you get your hot little hands on the upcoming\u00a0October “Email Players” issue.<\/p>\n She goes to the printer soon.<\/p>\n Get your lovin’ here:<\/p>\n
