Someone recently asked me why the big craze in podcasts.<\/p>\n
Seems everyone is podcasting.<\/p>\n
(Or, wanting to.)<\/p>\n
And, he wanted to know why.<\/p>\n
Well, I can’t speak for any other podcasters. But for me it’s\u00a0because I have so much I want to say about email, copywriting,\u00a0marketing, the parallels between the dating and business world, and\u00a0just life in general (i.e. life lessons that can be applied to\u00a0business) it’s flat out therapeutic. Believe it or not, I often\u00a0can’t even rap about this stuff with my business friends because\u00a0I’m such an awful, terrible, obnoxious ball hog and never STFU.\u00a0Whenever I’m given the “talking pillow” in a conversation I never\u00a0give it back. I just yap yap yap yap yap on…<\/p>\n
Thus, the podcast.<\/p>\n
It’s like therapy<\/em>.<\/p>\n And, I can’t *not* do it at this point.<\/p>\n (Just like I can’t *not* write emails each day.)<\/p>\n In the recently pre-recorded 50th podcast episode I even thank the\u00a0listeners not just for listening, but for being my shrink.<\/p>\n Isn’t there a financial motive to podcasting?<\/p>\n Of course there is.<\/p>\n But it takes a back seat to my free therapy<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n In fact, I daresay the listeners get FAR more financial value\u00a0(assuming the info is being applied) from the show than I ever\u00a0will.
