I got a question a while back from a subscriber about being\u00a0entertaining in emails.<\/p>\n
He said he tries and tries and fails.<\/p>\n
And, do I have any tips for him?<\/p>\n

In fact, I once wrote an entire “Email Players” issue just on how\u00a0to be entertaining in emails a couple years ago.<\/p>\n
One tip I didn’t write about in it, though, is this:<\/p>\n
Surround yourself with entertainment<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Watch funny sitcoms.<\/p>\n Listen to stand up comics.<\/p>\n Pay attention to the top talk radio hosts.<\/p>\n Hellz, you can even use funny objects to start making yourself\u00a0think more like an entertainer.<\/p>\n Want an example?<\/p>\n Okay then, checky:<\/p>\n Most days when I wake up I do my bid’niz (i.e. go to the bathroom)\u00a0in the downstairs bathroom. And, as I stand there relieving my full\u00a0bladder (yes, I know, TMI, whatevs) I stare at a plaque on the wall\u00a0in front of the toilet that has a pirate skull and crossbones on a piece\u00a0of wood that says:<\/p>\n “Poop Deck”<\/strong><\/p>\n Maybe not knee-slapping funny.<\/p>\n But it gives me a chuckle each time.\u00a0Puts my mind in the “mood” for entertainment.\u00a0And, I believe, helps my emails.<\/p>\n More:<\/p>\n Another way to be entertaining is to simply tell stories.<\/p>\n Stories are naturally entertaining.<\/p>\n And, has been the chief means by which human beings share and\u00a0process information (even memory training courses will have you put\u00a0facts into story form to memorize them) for thousands of years.<\/p>\n Why?<\/p>\n Because they work.<\/p>\n They’re entertaining.<\/p>\n And, yes, they’re persuasive.<\/p>\n The January “Email Players” issue is all about stories.<\/p>\n How to tell ’em.<\/p>\n How to sell with ’em.<\/p>\n And, how to profit with ’em.<\/p>\n Get yo bootay to this link to get it in time:<\/p>\n
