The part of my “Zombie Cop” novel I take the most flak for is chapter 10.<\/p>\n
To paraphrase the Joker:<\/p>\n
You write one little scene about someone getting raped by a zombie and suddenly everyone loses their minds!<\/p>\n
Sheesh.<\/p>\n
Girls tell me they can barely read it.<\/p>\n
Guys think I’m some kinda psycho for writing it.<\/p>\n
And, some accuse me of trying to disturb and gross people out just for the sake of disturbing and grossing people out, and not having enough sense to “filter” my writing better.<\/p>\n
Are they right?<\/p>\n
Nah.<\/p>\n
For one, there’s a purpose behind all that violence. (It ain’t just thrown in willy-nilly.) And secondly, it’s a *zombie* book — not the Mickey Mouse Hour. It’s supposed to be deranged.<\/p>\n
Anyway, the sequel “Vampire Apocalypse” has its own derangement.<\/p>\n
Specifically, in chapter 6.<\/p>\n
Chapter 6 is VA’s version of chapter 10.<\/p>\n
And, if you read it, I HIGHLY suggest you turn on (and have it loop during the whole time you read the chapter) “The Brides” from the “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” soundtrack.<\/p>\n
SPURN me not on this.<\/strong><\/p>\n It’s what I listened to while writing it.<\/p>\n (And editing it.)<\/p>\n It’ll make the experience a lot more creepy.<\/p>\n Way more fun.<\/p>\n And, a bit\u00a0more disturbing.<\/p>\n Ain’t that the whole point of a vampire story…?<\/p>\n You can read the first chapter or so free on amazon here:<\/p>\n
