We got ourselves a drama queen on our hands.<\/p>\n
Specifically, Lake Superior State University in Michigan which has\u00a0published it’s annual list of “Words Banished from the Queen’s\u00a0English for Mis-use, Over-use and General Uselessness.”<\/p>\n
The “offending” words?<\/p>\n
Anyway, what’s the takeaway from this?<\/p>\n
A couple things..<\/p>\n
First, I find this list pretentiously cra-cra.<\/p>\n
Communication is about clarity not snobbery. And, several of these\u00a0words are perfect for using in emails (and copywriting, content,\u00a0etc) when you want to inject a bit of curated entertainment value\u00a0into your writing (being entertaining — with a whiff of swag — is\u00a0a good skill set to possess), or simply make something clear.<\/p>\n
And secondly, here’s the way I see it:<\/p>\n
Settle Nation will strive to use ALL these words in copy in 2015.<\/p>\n
