Just when I thought I heard it all…<\/p>\n
Last week my ex-copywriting apprentice was at the Traffic &\u00a0Conversion shin-dig, and there was a booth from a company selling\u00a0some kind of online service for websites (I forget the details —\u00a0but no matter). Anyway, when she asked the guy at the booth a\u00a0question about the service he assured her:<\/p>\n
“I’m a ninja. We’re all ninjas here.”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Amusing stuff.<\/p>\n
Especially since it was so dorky.<\/p>\n
It’s one thing if someone else calls you a “ninja” (at whatever you\u00a0do). Or a “rockstar.” Or “gangsta.” Or any of the other Internet\u00a0marketing fanboy jargon words floating around.<\/p>\n
But someone calling *themselves* that?<\/p>\n
Seems kinda wannabe to me.<\/p>\n
After all, if you really are, for example, “awesome”, you shouldn’t\u00a0have to say it. If you have to say you are, you ain’t, so get back\u00a0to work…<\/p>\n
