[SPOILER ALERT]<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Dr. Henry Jones Sr. (Indiana Jones’ father) suddenly going missing\u00a0while pursuing the Holy Grail (the cup Jesus drank from at the Last\u00a0Supper), and Indiana has to follow in his father’s footsteps to\u00a0find him and stop the Nazis. Anyway, towards the end Indie and the\u00a0bad guy find where the grail is, and told to choose wisely from\u00a0amongst several of them.<\/p>\n The one will bring life.<\/p>\n The others?<\/p>\n Death.<\/p>\n Looking at the selection of chalices, the bad guy (Donovan) picks\u00a0up the bright shiny one, the one that looks pretty and slick and\u00a0majestic, and, well, “ninja” (in Internet marketing fanboy\u00a0vernacular). He then fills it with water and takes a drink,\u00a0expecting eternal life. But instead, he starts aging rapidly,\u00a0decomposing on the spot, dying a horrible and painful death.\u00a0Indiana Jones, on the other hand, picks the humble looking chalice,\u00a0(“That’s the cup of a carpenter,” he says) and turns out he chose\u00a0right.<\/p>\n Anyhoo.<\/p>\n The point?<\/p>\n We got a bit of this in Internet marketing land.<\/p>\n Most people are hopelessly attracted to the sexy, complicated,\u00a0“cool” looking bright shiny object products and techniques, when,\u00a0in reality, those will just suck the life out of your marketing and\u00a0kill it dead. Conversely, it’s the what I call “dull unpolished\u00a0objects” that will breathe everlasting life into your ads, emails,\u00a0and promotions.<\/p>\n How can you tell the difference?<\/p>\n There are many ways, my little Droogling.<\/p>\n And tomorrow’s “Ben Settle Show” podcast reveals all.
