One of the big “take aways” I got from a mastermind I
\nattended in Austin last month was when we were told to write down
\nour “why.”<\/p>\n
Why am I in business?<\/p>\n
Why do I do this every day?<\/p>\n
Why do I push myself?<\/p>\n
I had a lot of answers to this.<\/p>\n
One is, I don’t want to be destitute and impoverished (already
\ntasted a little bit of that, it was a bitter fruit indeed…).
\nAnother is it amuses me (I find it fun). Yet another is, I want to
\nleave a legacy of having done something worthwhile when I join the
\nChoir Invisible.<\/p>\n
But the MAIN why?<\/p>\n
The One Motivation that rules them all?<\/p>\n
Power.<\/p>\n
As the late Gary Halbert pointed out in his “Boron Letters” book,\u00a0there is no justice, only power (and he would know, considering he\u00a0wrote that book from a Federal prison serving time for a crime he\u00a0didn’t even commit).<\/p>\n
Yes!<\/p>\n
I want power<\/em>, babycakes!<\/strong><\/p>\n And, I want LOTS of it.<\/p>\n I don’t want anyone controlling me or my destiny.<\/p>\n I don’t want to have my freedom taken away on a whim by some\u00a0bureaucrat who suddenly deems me a criminal for committing a\u00a0thought crime or some other nonsense (and if you think we aren’t\u00a0going in that direction then, well, keep being naive, little\u00a0snowflake, Obama loves you), or because someone bears false witness against me.<\/p>\n And, I don’t want to be financially or physically vulnerable.<\/p>\n Not exactly the most noble of “whys”.<\/p>\n But, few of my whys are.<\/p>\n (I wrote the deranged and ultra violent “Zombie Cop” book just to\u00a0impress a girl, for example, and the thought of a particularly\u00a0grating person in my childhood is what pushes me to keep going\u00a0farther and farther in business.
