A freelance copywriter once asked my ex-copywriting apprentice:
“How do I know if a client is wasting my time or not?”
I don’t know what her answer was.
But, I know what my answer would be.
This:
If you have to ask, they are probably wasting your time. Or, for people who think giving all their best ideas away free to a would-be client: Have they paid you anything for your time when you incessantly gave them free information in your zeal to win them over?
No?
Then they are wasting your time.
And, it’s your fault.
You’re by no means an innocent victim, you’re a *willing* victim.
Once you understand that everything changes.
Anyway, so that’s that.
On to business:
The October “Email Players” issue goes to print in a couple weeks.
It doesn’t contain anything specifically for freelance copywriters — but it does contain a ton of email marketing and writing goodies that have made quite a bit the green stuff for my businesses, as well as clients (when I did client work).
There’s one teaching in there (about a Hearse) that’s especially profitable.
That is, if you’re a subscriber.
And, if you implement it.
Here’s where to subscribe while there’s still time:
