I suck at research.
No, really, I do.
One of the “necessary evils” (for me, anyways) of doing client work for multiple different markets back in the day was all the fraggin’ research.
I’d rather do anything than do research.
I hate research.
Research sucks!
But you know what?
Since my droogie Jonathan Rivera and I started our Ben Settle Antipreneur Show I’ve been gritting my teeth over the bumper music we use. I won’t say I hate it. And I certainly don’t hate it as much as I hate doing research. But, I want to use a different song and want to license the rights to use it in our bumper music.
Thus:
I’m putting the call out for someone to research this.
And no, I don’t just want a list of links where I can do this at.
Nor do I want an info product showing me how.
I want someone to do everything *for* me.
Well, rather, for Jonathan.
The lucky duck who gets to do this will do all the research, find the exact person (or people — from what I understand we may need the right of the publisher and the musician, and this is why it’s such a swamp) we need to make a deal with, talk to them to make sure they are the right people, then show us the fees, show us the terms (I want info on a short list of potential songs, so it will be for multiple songs)… and actually set everything up so Jonathan can just make a phone call and make the deal.
Anyway, here’s how it’d work if’n you’re interested:
1. Whoever wants to help contacts me
2. Make us an offer for what you want to get paid
2. You go out and do the above
3. You work with producer Jonathan (not me)
4. When the job is done, and you have done your part (everything explained above, up until Jonathan making the deal, which is obviously out of your control) you get paid the agreed-upon price.
Realize, you may be competing with others.
(I want speed with this, baby!)
So whoever gets the job done first “wins” and gets paid.
Anyway, I am in a hurry.
So if you are interested contact me here:
(Not on flakebook or twitter or phone, use the form at the link).
OK, that’s it for today.
Enjoy the rest of thy Sunday…
Ben Settle
