My friend Brianna recently told me about the “mush cookie” guys who hit on her.
“Mush cookie” meaning guys who are…
- Clingy
- Needy
- Timid
- Emotional
- Etc…
These dudes turn her off, repel her, and totally make her want to find someone… else.
Anyway, it got me thinking.
We got mush cookies in the marketing world, too.
Like, for example…
- People who can’t form an original thought — always swiping and stealing other peoples’ ideas, sales copy and emails.
- People afraid of not being (gasp!) liked.
- People not relentless in their follow up.
- People who are terrified of letting anyone see the “real” them in their emails, sales letters and marketing.
- People without the guts to stick it out when times get hard.
- People afraid to SELL (hiding their pitches inside a soft sell “PS” in their emails, or who just give away free content, etc.)
- People scared of going against the grain.
- And the list goes on…
Those are mush cookie marketers:
Timid.
Scared.
Lazy.
Are you one of them?
Then it’s time to change your evil ways.
Sac up, already.
And, be a real entrepreneur.
Hey, don’t shoot the messenger.
If you sell a truly quality product, the world needs it.
And by being such a mush cookie, you’re not selling it to as many people as you could, thereby depriving others’ of possessing your product and solving a pain in their lives.
So quit with the mush cookie nonsense.
End of sermon.
